Book of Mormon 80 Day Reading Printable

I love that twice a year members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints can gather together in their homes, church buildings or at the conference center, to listen to the prophet, apostles, and other leaders of the church.  I was especially touched by the Women's Conference this year. President Russell M. Nelson challenged the women of this church, ages 8 and up, to read the Book of Mormon by the end of this year.  I know it's going to be a lot for me, but I also know and believe that the prophet doesn't give us challenges, especially Prophetic Council, that can't be accomplished.

Since I love planning and an excuse to create and organize, I made this printable to use for the reading challenge.  Just click {HERE}! And don't forget to check out amazing study helps at

I Like to Look for Rainbows...

This little lovely was just baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.   I found some adorable printables out there for her special baptism day, but I wanted to make something a little more "her."

To download these free printables, click {HERE}
All the photos are jpeg and can be printed at your local photo printer. I've included 2 sizes for the guest book, an 11x14 which will be the square 11x11 and an 8x10. It's Great to be Eight!

If you would like the digital paper that matches, you can find it from Graphics by Nina
Please use these printables for your own personal use.  Please do not share, but feel free to send them to this blog post.  Thank you!

October General Conference Printables

Dieter F. Uchtdorf's talk truly resonated with me this morning. When searching for spiritual truth's we need to be careful to not run into the "internet search follies."  We must ask questions such as: "Do I believe in God? Or Is my experience with the Church working for me?  Have I experienced a mighty change of heart?" While searching and working towards spiritual truth's, we can work towards our answers by asking, "Are we making our discipleship too complicated?  and then, "Start where you are." The complete talk will be found HERE when updated on LDS.org.  Until then, you can watch live at www.lds.org  General Conference.

Called to Cub Scouts... again

I have once again been called to Cub Scouts!  I am quite excited because I am in a ward where the scouts are now getting the hands it needs to run smoothly...well, as smoothly as an evening with a bunch of 8-10 year old boys can run!  The rest of the year has already been planned out, so I'm pretty much going to be a helping hand for the next few months.

Every time I've been in scouts, the need for a great discipline/ positive reward system is vital. They are using the marble jar I had started 3 years ago when I was called in.  I'm not sure how the boys are reacting to it now, but I'm looking for new ideas... just in case.

Here are a few ideas I found!

Our pack uses these sometimes at pack meetings when cheering the person getting the reward... maybe we can use these as leaders when we see positive behavior. (Mrs. Robbins 2nd Grade)

From Eighteen25 , these punch cards are GREAT!  I might need to make them a little more "boy!" I just made my own version.... click {HERE} to download.

From Making Friends , scout bucks sounds like a fun thing to do.  Again, I'm thinking I will make my own Cub Scout version..... I just found this on my Pinterest Board.... guess I liked this ideas once before. I can not find the original to give credit.

Rage Against the Minivan uses this idea with her kids.  This is basically the marble jar, but maybe introducing it a new way can keep it fresh!

The Idea Room uses a store with accumulated points.  This could be used in our scouts with any of the above ideas.....

Another idea is to give each scout a bracelet.  When a positive behavior is seen, we can add a bead or take away for negative behavior. At the end of a specific period they can turn in beads to buy things at the store.

Pinewood Derby Printables

I've been scouring the internet for Pinewood Derby decoration ideas.  While there are several out there, I didn't find many printables. Our pack budget is pretty much nil, so decorating this year needs to be practically nothing.  I pinned a few ideas I found {HERE} and decided to create my own printables.  I don't think we will be using the wraps and the cupcake toppers for our event, but the rest should be fairly inexpensive.  I can print the four signs at home and the food tents will be customized and then printed at a photo printing place.  Since it's 2 per 4x6, I should be able to have them printed for about $2.00.  I'm hoping to print the pit passes as well because I think the boys would LOVE it!  I will print those at the photo printing place as well and then punch two holes and create a necklace with yarn. The rest of the decorations will come from flags the troop already has and simple black plastic table cloths.  Our derby is on Saturday, so I'll post the finished products next week. I'm sharing my work with you and would love to see how you use them. Hope you enjoy the printables!  Go {HERE} to download.

Sad the L-O-V-E is Over

I'm quite sad Valentine's day is over. I pretty much missed it due to the flu.  I'm the only one in the family to have gotten it (so far), but I was DOWN.  Thankfully the kids and I had a small party at our house before I got sick, but they missed the big homeschool party we do every year.  So here's the Valentine's we ended up making this year.  I thought they turned out GREAT and the kids LOVED them. Now there's more for them!

1. My teenager was inspired by all the glow stick Valentine's found on Pinterest.  She in turn used www.picmonkey.com and created her own.

2. I found the mustache whistles at Hobby Lobby and thought they would be perfect for the baby.  I opted to use a printable I found on Pinterest rather than create my own because, hey, I loved it. You can find it here by Lou la Belle Designs.

3. My 11 year old is a HUGE Lord of the Rings fan. I had seen a few done around the internet, but made this one using an imported image and picmonkey.

4. Used picmonkey again!  Love that site.  My 3 year old was Minnie for Halloween, so we used that photo to make it more personalized.

5. I used the printable found here.  Since it ended up being my 9 year old who wanted it and not the baby, we opted to make chocolate duckies rather than buy rubber duckies.

6. My 6 year old is my mini me.  She loves to craft!  I had wanted to make the chapstick holder for her, but she wanted to be more involved.  So she found a pad with hello kitty stickers and coloring pages and inserted those into a party bag and decorated the bags.  I think they are perfect!

Chapstick or Twix Valentine Holder

If you've checked out my Etsy Shop, you might have seen my Christmas Chapstick/ Twix Candy Holder Kit.  Well, I've created this same item as a Valentine's digital download. I suggest printing at a print shop on cardstock. Use ribbon to turn into a purse or just staple or glue together.  Use any regular sized chapsticks or mini Twix bars.  Since it's a pdf, you can add wording to personalize using the new Adobe Reader.  Whoa... now that all the directions are taken care of, I think I'm going to make a Hello Kitty one for my 6 year old.
I'll share it once I'm done!

Valentine Printable

Valentine's Day always sneaks up on me so I thought I'd get a head start on handmade notes.  This one will be from the baby. I plan on ordering mini rubber duckies {check out my supply store} and I'll attach those to this 4x6:

So Thankful Digital Party

I'm so excited to share this month's Digital Party!  I tried to make it match the physical party and I'm pretty happy with it.  If you ordered the physical party, this will go perfectly with it.  In fact, if you don't want to use the chalkboard labels, you can download the labels below and use with the boxes or easels. Hope you have a blessed month!

Harry Potter Fan Gift Idea

I have 6 children, so there is always a party going on.  My 13 year old daughter was invited to a friends party this past weekend. I must inspire my daughter because the normal lotion/ make-up present was just not going to cut it.  Her friend loves Harry Potter so we scoured Pinterest for the perfect gift. My daughter took several of the birthday party ideas we found and evolved them in to the perfect Harry Potter fan gift.  Most of the work was done by her (she wanted me to make sure I gave her the credit).

Here's our her final work:

She purchased a chest at Hobby Lobby.

We created a Gryffindor stencil using the Silhouette cutting machine
and an svg from their online store. We used black paint to paint the stencil and allowed it to dry before pulling up.  (in the future I would paint with a clear paint first so that the paint does not bleed on the raw wood)

My daughter bought several types of candies. We were in luck that it's Halloween because we found all the "gross" candies as well.  Aren't these Red Hots cute in a Tic-Tac like container?

We used printables from Over the Big Moon to adhere and attach to the candy.
{use the above link for the free printables}

Chocolate Twizzlers for Chocolate Wands

Pixie Sticks and Nerds fit perfectly into the test tubes.

 Super Cute

And it all "magically" fit!

We also printed a 5x7 of this printable found at Simply Fresh Designs.
